World Poker Tour President Adam Pliska said Thursday that he was honored to have Las Vegas as one of the initial venues for the second season of the Alpha8 series, adding that the World Poker Tour is expecting a high turnout for the event.
“Bellagio will once again make history by being the first casino to hold a televised WPT Alpha8 tournament simultaneously with a televised Main Tour event,” states an official press release circulated to media outlets.
To date, the Alpha8 series has hosted four large buy-in tournaments consisting of over 60 players and $9 million in prize pool money.
Phillip Gruissem won back-to-back events late last year in Season 1. Other winners from the inaugural season include Steven Silverman and Daniel “Jungleman” Cates.
Episodes of WPT Alpha8 Season 2 will be televised on Mondays on Fox Sports 1.
