The Fall Online Championships (FOC) on WSOP PA is more than halfway through, and it looks like huge value for Pennsylvania online poker players. With a total of 40 events in the books, nearly three-quarters of the games have fallen short of the guarantee and four games have missed their promised money by more than 50%.
The closing weekend is looming for the WSOP PA FOC, but so far, the players have been getting great value from the series. 29 events have missed their guarantee, with the biggest gap coming from a prize pool that was not even 35% of the guarantee.
So far, the games have guaranteed a total of $581,944, but the total collected to this point is barely $400,000. That leaves a gap of $180,947 worth of overlay that has been going directly into players’ pockets.
There are still 27 events left to play in the series, and more than $450,000 in guarantees are left to be won. Most of that money is locked up in the massive Main Event starting October 24. That $320 buy-in has $150,000 guaranteed in total, double the next largest guarantee of any other event in the series.

Fall Overlay Championships
The main overarching theme so far seems to be that the “O” in FOC stands for Overlay instead of Online: Falling more than $180,000 short of guarantees across the schedule is a huge miss relative to the series size. At its current pace, the total series could fall more than $300,000 short of the promised prize pools.
The worst overlay offenders were very likely expected to overlay, though perhaps not by as much as they have. Sundays during the series play host to a particularly big Warmup game to start the night. For just $11 (with a $22 add-on), players get a shot at $22,222 guaranteed.
So far, the best turnout for the game was 850 total entries in the first edition on October 10 for just $9,410 collected, leaving nearly $13,000 for WSOP PA to make up. The second running on Oct 17 did even worse, with just 687 entries and only $7,610 collected.
WSOP PA Fall Online Championships: Big Misses
Game | Date | Buy-In | Guarantee | Entries Recorded | Total Collected | % of Gty |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Warmup | Oct 17 | $11 | $22,222 | 687 | $7,620 | -65.71% |
Warmup | Oct 10 | $11 | $22,222 | 850 | $9,410 | -57.65% |
Sunday Special | Oct 10 | $100 | $75,000 | 402 | $36,582 | -51.22% |
Super Turbo | Oct 13 | $50 | $15,000 | 163 | $7,417 | -50.56% |
Not all the games have overlaid. So far, 11 games have actually hit the guaranteed prize pool, and ironically, the worst-performing game is also the best. While the Sunday Warmup games have massive guarantees attached, the Warmup games run daily with smaller guarantees.
So far, five of the smaller Warmup games have managed to beat the $3,000 guarantee attached. Two Warmup games feature in the top five guarantee beats, so it seems clear players like that format.

Lots of Value Left
There are still 27 events left to play in the Fall Online Championships, and more than $450,000 guaranteed. The highlight, of course, is the Main Event with $150,000 guaranteed starting Oct 24, but there is still one more big Warmup game on the schedule as well, with $22,222 promised.
There will also be $55,000 guaranteed in two different 6-Max games on Oct 24, plus $45,000 in guarantees in two big games on Oct 26 to close the series out. Given the amount of overlay paid out so far, it seems safe to suggest there will be a lot of extra money in the prize pools through the rest of the series.
