The iconic Horseshoe Casino name will return to Las Vegas later this year as the new home of the World Series of Poker.

The Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino will go through a complete rebranding and renovations, with construction expected to last until the end of the year. With its new makeover, Bally’s property on the Strip will be returning to the classic style of the iconic Horseshoe Casino. For WSOP, this means it is going back to its roots, where it all began in 1970.

“Bringing the Horseshoe brand back to life in Las Vegas allows us to celebrate both our history and our future,” said Sean McBurney, Regional President of Caesars Entertainment. “2022 starts a new era for the Caesars Entertainment empire in Las Vegas, one being heralded by the return of Horseshoe.”

The venue initially opened as the MGM Grand Hotel in December 1973. Eight years later, in November 1981, it experienced one of the most deadly fires in the history of Las Vegas, with 87 casualties. After the extensive rebuild was completed, Bally Manufacturing purchased the resort in 1986 and renamed it Bally’s.

This property remained under the Bally’s moniker until now, as it goes through its second rebranding in its history to become the Horseshoe Casino, as confirmed by its current owner Caesars Entertainment on January 26, 2022.
