The biggest $25k game in the world is coming back in early 2023, and PokerStars is paving the road to the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) for players around the globe. Among the upcoming events on the PokerStars real money tournament schedule are series in Romania, France, and Brazil.
PokerStars is bringing back the PSPC for 2023. After a hugely successful first running of the marquee $25,000 buy-in event in 2019, the game’s 2020 and 2021 returns were kiboshed by the COVID pandemic. Now that the restrictions are winding down, the game is back on for January 2023.
For the event’s first running back in 2019, the operator gave away over 300 entries to the big game in the form of Platinum Passes. Those free entries did not detract from the game’s success, though, with over 1,000 total entries for the biggest $25k game in live poker history.
Even without the Platinum Pass entries, the 2019 game crushed the expectations. There was a $25 million guarantee for the event, but by the time the dust settled on the registration desk, the prize pool was up to $26.5 million.
The success of the 2019 Platinum Passes opened the road for this year’s qualifying journey. Around the world, in the run-up to the big game, PokerStars will run the Road to PSPC during its live events to give players chances to win their way to the Bahamas.
