“Over the past five years, our game has become more than poker and gaming and more than virtual reality. Vegas Infinite is our vision for the entertainment destination of the future.” Flutter, the parent company of PokerStars, has given its well-known virtual reality, PokerStars VR, a major makeover, rebranding it as Vegas Infinite.

The rebranding, implemented on September 10, nearly five years since the product’s launch, marks a significant departure from its original poker-centric focus.

“As we approach our fifth anniversary, it’s incredible to think how far our game has come,” said James O’Reilly, PokerStars Director of VR & Innovation in a press release.

“From a cutting-edge experiment in applying virtual reality to the poker table, we’ve grown to become a living entertainment destination with a full suite of games and experiences played in otherworldly environments that are home to an avid community of players.

Launched in 2018, PokerStars VR, now known as Vegas Infinite, is a free-to-play product that aims to provide a true-to-life casino experience within the virtual world. Much like the real-world casino environment, Vegas Infinite allows players to handle virtual chips and cards, pick up on opponents’ tells, engage in table chat via audio, and even indulge in a range of virtual luxuries, from cigars to firearms or food and beverages.
