PokerStars celebrated another millionaire last week in its Spin & Go lottery sit and go (LSNG) format.
A Belarusian player with the screenname “Zherminal” hit the elusive million-dollar jackpot in a $5 buy-in game—where the odds of winning such a prize are just one in ten million. In mere minutes, “Zherminal” turned a $5 entry into a life-changing $1 million.
According to PokerStars, this marks the 45th time a player has won a million-dollar jackpot in its LSNG games since the format’s launch.
Spin & Go debuted on PokerStars a decade ago, originally inspired by the French operator Winamax, who adapted ideas from PokerStars’ Golden Sit & Go. The format quickly became a hit with both recreational and regular players, offering fast, 3-handed games with hyper-turbo structures that wrap up in minutes.
Its fast-structured gameplay and the thrill of a randomized prize pool—from double the buy-in up to a million-dollar jackpot—have made Spin & Go a game-changer. The format is perfect for mobile play, appealing to players looking for quick, casual gaming sessions, while the chance at big jackpots keeps it exciting.
Today, the format has become a global staple, even reaching the US regulated market. A testament to its ongoing popularity, industry heavyweight DraftKings recently launched its own version of the format, Electric Poker, marking its entry into online poker with an LSNG-inspired offering.
The latest Spin & Go jackpot, hit on Friday, October 25, came from one of the lowest buy-in levels and featured a remarkable 240,000x multiplier, the rarest available. The two runners-up, derom01 and mari_farah15, also walked away with impressive prizes of $120,000 and $80,000 for second and third place, respectively.
For winner Zherminal, the payout represents an astonishing ROI of nearly 20 million percent—a truly extraordinary return.
According to exclusive information shared with pokerfuse, PokerStars has hosted an average of 170 million Spin & Go games annually across all markets since the format’s launch. This translates to a massive 1.7 billion real-money games worldwide, covering markets like dot-com, Europe, the US, and Ontario. Additionally, 420 million games have been played on the play-money site.
During this time, the million-dollar jackpot has been triggered 45 times across PokerStars’ global and Southern European markets, including a $2 million jackpot at a $5 buy-in game in 2019.
In its ten-year history, the Spin & Go format has awarded a whopping $34.3 billion in prize money, alongside an additional $115 million in tickets, satellite entries, and packages to major events like the EPT and NAPT.
Upcoming Live Spins Championship
The 45th Spin & Go millionaire arrives just in time as PokerStars prepares for its first-ever Live Spin & Go Championship, set to take place at EPT Prague this December.
This debut event will feature 81 players, including online Spin & Go qualifiers and a mix of PokerStars ambassadors and influencers, competing for the title and a $25,000 first-place prize in the Czech capital.
In total, $100,000 will be awarded throughout the event, with mystery prizes given out in Rounds 2 and 3, and $50,000 reserved for the final three players.
For those unfamiliar, a live version of Spin & Go was recently tested at EPT Barcelona, where PokerStars gathered valuable player feedback to refine the format for the Championship event.
This live version mirrored the classic online Spin & Go structure, with 3-max Hyper Turbo Sit & Go games featuring rapidly increasing blinds. Players began with 500 chips, and blinds escalated every three to four minutes. The same format will be featured at EPT Prague.
If you’re interested in qualifying, the second of three qualification windows is open now, with online qualifiers closing on November 17.
