Launched in 2004, Pokerati started as a personal blog for Dan Michalski’s home game but quickly grew to become much more than that. From hosting live tournaments and having weekly cash games in Palms in Las Vegas to helping regulators frame the online poker industry, it really was a site for the players.
Unfortunately, as the poker landscape changed and the owner got caught up in other obligations, the site ceased to exist, remaining only in the fond memories of some of the earliest fans of the game.
Tadas Peckaitis, the CEO of iBetMedia, decided that it was not fair for such a brand to disappear, so back in January, he purchased Pokerati.com, dedicated to re-launching the site with a modern outlook but true to the original brand slogan: in pursuit of better poker!
As Tadas told us, “We will do what we can to make Pokerati a player-first media site where every live poker fan can find everything they need to plan their trips, follow favorite players, or just keep up to date with the latest events.”
Today, almost a full year later, the new Pokerati site is finally set to join the vibrant community of the poker media, with its eyes set on the live aspect. From the most popular poker tours to live streams and poker vlogs, the site will look to position itself as the go-to place for entertaining news and a useful resource for everyone traveling the world to play poker.
All Tournament Info in One Place
One of the main areas of the new Pokerati will focus on the upcoming and ongoing live tournament series. The live event calendar is there to allow players to easily see what major events are upcoming and help them plan accordingly.
Currently covering the World Poker Tour, WSOP, the European Poker Tour, Triton Poker Series, and the PokerGO Tour, Pokerati also brings regular updates on the most recent winners, players’ earnings, their standings in various seasonal competitions, and more.
With time, the site hopes to add more tours and festivals to its roster, building towards the goal of becoming the number one resource for players seeking to play in live tournaments across the globe.
Best of Live Poker Streams & Vlogs
At the moment, live poker streams and various vlogs are what make the poker community tick. Streams like Hustler Casino Live and Poker at the Lodge, alongside big names in the vlogging space like Mariano and Rampage, provide countless hours of quality and completely free entertainment.
At Pokerati, readers will find highlights of the best moments and recommendations for vloggers and streams to watch out for. With so much happening around the clock, having one hub to keep an eye on all of it can be of great value to poker fans.
Of course, although it’s an old brand, re-launched Pokerati is a brand new site in most of its aspects, and the platform is still a work in progress. The team behind the platform seems to be on the right track, and it’ll be interesting to see how it will develop over the coming months.
