Your Chance To Become a PokerStars Ambassador: Everything You Need To Know

PokerStars is rewarding players that attend their live stops in Europe with more than just lucrative cash prizes this year.

New for 2025 is the PokerStars Live League. a leaderboard race that is giving away tournament buy-ins, but more importantly, there is also a year long PokerStars Ambassadorship worth $100,000 on the line. The future PokerStars Ambassador will go on to represent PokerStars at live events during 2026 as well as online in events such as SCOOP and WCOOP.

The PokerStars Live League leaderboard race will run across all live events for 2025. These stops include the European Poker Tour (EPT), PokerStars Open and PokerStars-sponsored events such as the Irish Poker Open. It will run across all three buy-in levels, covering low, medium and high stakes — making sure everyone has a chance of winning the PokerStars Ambassador contract.

The top 10 finishers from each leaderboard will audition for the Ambassadorship before a winner is chosen. €150,000 in tournament buy-ins are also up for grabs across the leaderboard promotion.

“We’re really excited to bring PokerStars Live League to our player offering,” said Willie Elliot, Live Events Customer Engagement Manager via a press release. “Players have the opportunity to compete across a variety of different buy-in levels to win €150,000 in live event tickets, with three winners crowned.”

“Not only that, one winner will become a PokerStars ambassador, winning themselves a one-year deal worth a huge €100,000 — a dream for many poker players,” Elliot said. “The winner of the PokerStars ambassador role will travel across the globe wearing the iconic patch, attend the best live events in incredible locations, and play for millions in prize money alongside the best players in the world.”

League points will be awarded based on the Global Poker Index (GPI) rankings formula based on three factors: buy-in, number of entries and a player’s finishing position in the tournament.

Players who bust a tournament without cashing will still receive points equivalent to 20% of the value of min-cash points.

The first chance to pick-up points and enter the leaderboard race is at PokerStars Open in Campione, kicking off on March 10, 2025.

Players can also keep tabs on their leaderboard progress via the calculator built into the PokerStars Live app.

PokerStars has completed its live tour plans for 2025 when it comes to Europe; (the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) is still to be announced.) The EPT returns with five stops, two having just been announced in Malta and Prague. New for 2025 was the consolidation of smaller regional tours such as the Eureka Poker Tour, which now sits under the newly created PokerStars Open.

Under the new branding, the PokerStars Open tour will make in stops in Ireland (Irish Open), Namur (Belgium), and Malaga (Spain). Three new stops are scheduled under the new brand for Campione (Italy), Manchester (UK), and Cannes (France). At each stop there will be a €1,100/£1,100 Main Event with a €1M/£1M guaranteed prize pool, with many side events.
