GGPoker has qualified hundreds of players to the ongoing WSOP 2025 Toronto, currently underway at the Great Canadian Casino Resort in Toronto, Ontario.
A total of 416 players have won seats to the WSOP-C Toronto Main Event, each valued at C$2,000. Of these, 411 qualified through GGPoker Ontario, available exclusively to Ontario online poker players, while the remaining five earned their spots via GGPoker’s global platform, which hosted qualifiers specifically for the rest of Canada poker players.
Altogether, the 416 qualifiers represent a combined C$728,000 in entries to the Main Event, assuming all take their seats.

While GGPoker was also involved in the inaugural WSOP-C Toronto festival in 2024, this year, the operator has taken on an even bigger role as the official sponsor of The Poker Room at the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto.
In response to the strong turnout last year, organizers have expanded the setup for 2025 by adding more tournament tables to accommodate the growing player pool. They have also introduced online registration, though it comes with a 5.5% fee, to help players skip the long queues at the venue.
“[W]e have an exclusive partnership with them, making GC Toronto the sole destination in Ontario for hosting WSOP events, including Circuit Rings and Bracelet events,” the casino told pokerfuse in an exclusive interview.
Early Events Exceed Expectations
The WSOP-C Toronto 2025 kicked off on April 10 and runs through April 22, featuring eleven ring events with buy-ins ranging from C$300 to C$3,500. As expected, the festival is off to a strong start once again.
The opening event, a C$600 No-Limit Hold’em tournament, attracted over 800 entries and generated nearly C$400,000 in prize money. The Ladies Event, new to the schedule this year, also impressed, drawing close to 250 entries at C$300 each, creating a prize pool of nearly C$60,000.
The third event on the schedule, a C$1,000 NLH, pulled in a healthy field of 847 runners, building a prize pool of C$719,950. It was followed by a Turbo event that saw 619 entries and nearly C$200,000 in total prize money.
So far, the standout event of the series has been the C$800 Mystery Bounty, which drew 887 entries and generated C$585,420 in prize money, including a top bounty of C$25,000. The C$400 Seniors Event also performed strongly, bringing in 540 entries for a C$172,800 prize pool. Meanwhile, the C$600 Pot-Limit Omaha event attracted 614 entries, pushing the prize pool beyond C$300,000.
In total, the festival has already awarded C$2.4 million in prize money and seen over 4,500 entries across its events. With the two marquee tournaments — the Main Event and the High Roller — still to come, organizers initially projected the total prize pool to surpass C$6.5 million, a target that now appears well within reach.
Main Event Set for Record Turnout
The first of three starting flights for the Main Event kicked off today, and it looks like every seat is already filled. Organizers are projecting a prize pool of over C$3 million for the marquee event, which would require a turnout of more than 1,700 entries. For comparison, last year’s Main Event drew 1,600 entries, including 324 online qualifiers.
This year, with over 400 online qualifiers already confirmed, that number is expected to climb even higher.
The C$3,500 High Roller is scheduled for April 21, with officials anticipating a prize pool exceeding C$1.1 million. For players with more modest bankrolls, there are still affordable options — including the C$600 Deepstack event on April 20 and a C$400 No-Limit Hold’em event on April 22.
With C$2.4 million already awarded and strong projections for the Main Event and High Roller, the total festival prize pool now looks poised to surpass expectations and break the C$7 million mark.
The WSOP-C Toronto runs until April 22. Day 1B of the Main Event takes place on April 18 and Day 1C on April 19. The Main Event wraps up on April 21.
