ClubWPT Gold's First-Ever Online Tournament Series: Here's What You Need to Know ClubWPT Gold's First-Ever Online Tournament Series: Here's What You Need to Know

ClubWPT Gold, the sweepstakes poker platform by the World Poker Tour (WPT), has announced its first-ever tournament series and it’s quite massive.

Dubbed the Gold Rush Online Festival, the series will run from May 25 to June 30, overlapping almost entirely with the WSOP 2025 summer series.

A massive 14 million Sweeps Coins is guaranteed in total, making it by far the largest tournament series held on a sweepstakes poker site.

Much like Global Poker and Clubs Poker, ClubWPT Gold operates under a sweepstakes model, allowing it to serve players in most US states. In this model, there is no real-money currency involved. Instead of real-money, the site uses Gold Coins (GC) and Sweeps Coins (SC) at the tables.

Players can purchase GC for entertainment purposes; these coins hold no monetary value and cannot be redeemed. However, most GC purchases come with a corresponding amount of SC, which can be used to enter tournaments or ring games and can be redeemed at a 1:1 ratio for USD.

As a result, the series’ 14 million SC guarantee effectively represents $14 million in prize value.

Gold Rush Online Festival Details

Indeed, the series truly lives up to the hype. The Gold Rush Online Festival features nearly 250 tournaments, with buy-ins ranging from SC 11 to SC 2,500. The schedule offers a wide variety of formats, including Progressive Knockouts (PKOs), freezeouts, turbos, deepstacks, the classic 1R1A (one rebuy, one add-on), and several phased events with multiple Day 1 flights.

The phased events, in particular, come with big guarantees. While many tournaments feature generous prize pools, several WPT-branded marquee events stand out:

  • WPT500: Boasts a 600,000 SC guarantee for a SC 530 buy-in, with phased Day 1s running June 1–8.
  • WPT Prime: Runs June 8–15, offering SC 1 million guaranteed for a SC 1,060 buy-in.
  • WPT Championship: The flagship event, scheduled for June 15–29, features a SC 1.5 million guarantee with a SC 2,500 buy-in. The final table takes place on June 30, and the winner will earn the honor of having their name engraved on the prestigious Mike Sexton Trophy.

In addition to the three headline events, several other tournaments in the schedule also feature six-figure guarantees. Highlights include the Championship PKO with a SC 218 buy-in and SC 600,000 guaranteed, a Weekly event with a SC 22 buy-in offering SC 100,000, and the Sunday Deepstack, which carries a SC 110 buy-in and a SC 250,000 guarantee.

Gold Rush Campaign

The series is part of the Gold Rush campaign, which promises to award up to $11 million in additional bonuses. The campaign was launched alongside the rollout of ClubWPT Gold’s new downloadable desktop client, which introduced the platform’s most requested feature: multi-tabling.

However, the rollout did not go off without a hitch. Players reported various technical issues, including hands folding unexpectedly and other gameplay disruptions. The operator addressed the rocky debut on social media, admitting the launch was “below our standards” and committed to resolving the issues.

An update was pushed out shortly after, and while most major problems appear to have been fixed, some bugs still remain as the platform continues to fine-tune the experience.

Setting aside the software hiccups, ClubWPT Gold has significantly ramped up its promotional efforts. This includes a claim of over $11 million in bonus giveaways, a massive freeroll with a potential SC 2 million guaranteed prize pool, and the announcement of its first-ever tournament series, as already mentioned above.

The first two initiatives are part of what the operator is branding as the Gold Rush promotion. As part of this campaign, the operator is giving away 1,000 Gold Rush tickets. These ticket holders gain entry into the exclusive freeroll and also stand a chance to win an additional $1 million bonus.

But there’s a catch.

To be eligible for that $1 million bonus, ticket holders must win a “summer event” in Las Vegas, a thinly veiled reference to WSOP 2025 bracelet events. While ClubWPT does not explicitly name the World Series of Poker, it lists qualifying events by number and venue, making the connection unmistakable.

Qualifying events include $1,000 Mystery Millions, $500 Colossus, $1,500 Monster Stack, $1,000 Millionaire Maker, $300 Gladiators, $1,000 Mini Main Event and of course, the $10,000 Main Event. In total, ten WSOP bracelet events count for this promo.

Besides these ten live WSOP bracelet events, the WPT Championship running as part of the upcoming series will also be eligible.

If a Gold Rush ticket holder wins any of these designated events, they will receive a $1 million bonus prize on top of any other winnings. However, if no one claims the bonus, ClubWPT Gold will double the freeroll prize pool from 1 million SC to 2 million SC. The freeroll is scheduled to take place on July 13.

Players can earn Gold Rush tickets by participating in daily freerolls running from May 18 through July 6, with 800 tickets up for grabs through this route. An additional 200 tickets will be distributed via social media contests and giveaways, bringing the total to 1,000 tickets.

The Gold Rush Online Festival runs from May 25 to June 30.
