8 days into the News Year will see the start of the PokerStars Casino $100,000 Blackjack Tournament that will be held during the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), in the tropical paradise of the Bahamas.
In an exciting twist, this is the first time players will be able to compete against each other in a live blackjack tournament sponsored by PokerStars.
Considering the PCA is the “richest poker festival in the world” it is no surprise to see this high stakes game added into the schedule.
How the tournament will work
The buy-in to the event is $500, for which players are tempted with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000 along with a PCA Main Event Package.
The blackjack tournament will be conducted in a shootout format, with six players assigned to each blackjack table where 15 blackjack hands will be played. The winner of each first-round table will progress to the second round and win a minimum of $1,000.
The second round will feature six tables, each with six players. The third round will be the final table, with the six players battling for the remaining prize pool of around $70,000, plus a PCA Main Event package added by PokerStars.
There will be up to 216 players total in the event and play kicks off at 2pm, on the January 8.
The PCA will feature 104 events and runs from January 6 through 14 at the Atlantis Resort.
