The Charity Series of Poker (CSOP), created by poker pro Matt Stout, will be hosted this year on the January 30, at The Borgata Casino & Spa as part of the Borgata Winter Poker Open.
The series will raise money for the local charities Habitat for Humanity of Atlantic County and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey; two great causes, whilst also attracting a celebrity crowd including film critic Richard Roeper.
The no limit hold’em turbo tournament will begin at 5pm with a buy-in of $330 ($230 + a $100 donation to the chosen charities). Re-entries will be allowed for players who are eliminated giving everyone multiple opportunities to raise and win money.
Be sure to get to the 28 West Cocktail & Piano bar early (between 3:30pm – 5pm) for an open bar pre-party with appetizers to get the evening off to a good start.
Celebrities and poker pros such as WSOP bracelet winners Jeff Madsen and Vanessa Selbst, three-time WPT champion Anthony Zinno and reigning Borgata World Poker Tour champion Asher Conniff are also expected in attendance among others. So put on your glad rags and prepare to rub shoulders with the rich and famous.
“I’m really excited about returning our event to Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa,” said Matt Stout in a recent interview.
“They’ve always gone above and beyond to help us raise money for deserving aid organizations and it feels good to gather my poker and celebrity friends to make a contribution while having a great time doing it.”
