The final stop on the Unibet Open 2016 tour is in Bucharest, Romania where Unibet will host a landmark €500,000 guaranteed main event between December 1 – 4.
The event will be capped at 800 players and is the biggest guarantee Unibet has ever offered in the tour’s nine year history.
“We have worked with Pokerfest Romania for a couple of months to put everything in place” said Nataly Sopacuaperu, Head of Live Events at Unibet in a recent press release.
“We are extremely happy to up the cap to 800 and GTD half a million. This is the biggest event we have ever done.”
Players can enter qualifiers for the Bucharest Main Event on the Unibet site, where four to six packages will be guaranteed in their Sunday Finals that start at 20:00 CET.
The package includes accommodation at the luxury Marriott hotel and players will be invited to welcome drinks, the players’ party and much more.
For those unable to attend, all of the action will be streamed live on Unibet’s Twitch stream.
Unibet’s Very Own November Niner
But before then, is the Tour’s stop in Copenhagen (August 25 – 28) where it will be WSOP November Niner Kenny Hallaert’s first outing as the Unibet Open Tournament Director.
“I’m very happy to be part of the Unibet Open team” said Hallaert on his new appointment. “I have already played some of these events in the past and always had a good experience. Now I want to give that same experience to the players.”
The Belgian poker pro is already an accomplished tournament director, managing the Belgian Poker Challenge (BPC), a small tour that includes the PokerStars cardroom in the Grand Casino de Namur.
His top nine finish guarantees him at least $1 million, and considering he is sitting 4th in chips, he is in a good position at the table to take more.
The November Niners are all fighting for the $8 million first place prize at the WSOP and will be back on October 31 to battle it out.
The Rio Showdown MTT Series
But that isn’t all Unibet is proffering—to celebrate the 2016 Olympics in Rio they are running a special Olympic themed MTT Rio Showdown Series. But be quick, the promotion finishes on Sunday August 21.
