- Jackie Glazier has won the €1.1k WSOPE Ladies only event.
- Her first bracelet follows a 31st place finish in this year’s WSOP Main Event, and a 2nd place finish in last year’s $3k WSOP event which won her $459k.
- Glazier left Ivey Poker to become an 888 Team Pro in July.
The last woman standing in this year’s WSOP Main Event, Australian Jackie Glazier, has won the first event of the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) and her first WSOP bracelet.
The €1.1k Ladies Only event attracted a field of 65 including Liv Boeree, Gaelle Bauman and former WSOP bracelet winners Loni Harwood and Allyn Jaffrey Shulman.
888poker Team Pro Jackie Glazier had a near miss for a bracelet in the 2012 World Series $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em event when she came 2nd to Greg Ostrander for $459k. She had two Main Event cashes prior to her 31st place finish—and $221k—in this year’s tournament.
She made poker headlines in the event by folding a pair of kings pre-flop in a 7 bet pot. The decision—according to Jackie; “the first time I’ve ever folded kings pre-flop”—was the right one, as her opponent turned over aces.
The WSOPE event paid seven places and when the field was down to eight, the players discussed giving the bubble girl a payday, doing a deal to pay whoever it would be €1,400. According to PokerListings.com, Jackie was the lone hold out on the deal, so Anais LeRouge went home empty handed.
888poker will be pleased with their latest signing. Jackie left IveyPoker for 888poker in July this year, almost immediately after her Main Event run ended. Three of this year’s November Niners have now signed with 888poker— Jay Farber, Michiel Brummelhuis and chip leader JC Tran.
