Online betting exchange Matchbook.com has announced a documentary into Sam Trickett’s deep run in the Big One for One Drop tournament from last year’s WSOP.
The film, a preview of which can be viewed on the website, will be released in four parts over the next week, to coincide with the 2013 One Drop event. To watch the documentary, you’ll need to sign up for a (free) Matchbook account.
Based on the preview video, it appears to be a high production documentary which will feature candid interviews with Trickett, family and friends, fellow players and organizers of the event.
The $1,000,000 charity tournament last year attracted 48 players and a prize pool of over $42 million. The first prize of $18.3 million is the largest ever for a poker tournament. It returns for a “Little One for One Drop” this year.
In case you don’t know (or can’t remember) Trickett’s run in 2012, we won’t spoil it. It should make for a nail-biter.
