PokerStars has announced the events for the 10th PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) starting on Jan 5, 2013. PokerStars promises that the event will offer the”10 best days of poker on the planet.”
In the run up to the event PokerStars will be awarding 100 Main Event packages at the rate of 10 a week in $10 satellite tournaments. The Main Event package is worth $16,000 and includes 9 nights accommodation at the Atlantis hotel on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
The 40 events will include 10 signature events to mark the 10th anniversary of the tournament series including the $10k buy in Main Event and a $100k High Roller event.
An unusual side event will be played using PokerStar’s mobile Zoom client. Over 5 days players will play a Zoom tournament with unlimited rebuys. Each player will have 12 minutes to accumulate as many chips as possible. The $50k in guaranteed prizes will be awarded based on a leaderboard which will be maintained online.
According to the PCA’s Director of Live Operations, David Carrion:
If you were to imagine what the ultimate home poker game would look like, it would probably involve all your poker friends, an amazing location, non-stop poker action, top celebrities and poker pros, and the biggest variety of games and buy-in levels you could fit in. Well, that’s exactly what we have in mind when we plan the PCA, and the 2013 10th anniversary PCA will be the most amazing poker party on the planet.
