The revamped WSOP Asia-Pacific (APAC) Australia schedule for 2014 has now been published and it includes ten bracelet events. The series will run from October 2 to October 18.
Previous WSOP APACs have had only five events, but the series plus the WSOP Europe have been reorganized to run sequentially every two years. The Crown Casino in Melbourne is providing the venue for APAC Australia, as before.
Last year’s Main Event was won by Daniel Negreanu, helping him to win the 2013 Player of the Year award, as well as over $1m in prize money.
The series will start with a $1,100 Accumulator event designed to encourage a high turnout. Players can enter up to three Day 1s, and the chipstacks they end each Day 1 with are then aggregated into one stack for Day 2.
ESPN will be televising the final table of the $10k Main Event and the $25k High Roller. Broadcast is scheduled to be live, with a one hour delay, on October 17 and October 18.
“The live television window includes 6-8 hours of coverage a day, meaning nearly every hand of the final table of each the Main Event and High Roller will be seen by viewers around the globe,” explained WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart.
