Popular poker blogger and Author of 'Lost Vegas’, Paul McGuire, has tweeted, blogged and appeared on podcast radio show 'Hardcore Poker Radio’ to say that Pokerstars is 'stiffing’ affiliates, declining to pay for fees due from the last 2 months.
He first posted on his popular twitter account – followed by over 4000 people – on Sunday, stating, “Bad beat. @pokerstars is paying out US players who cash out, but they are NOT paying affiliates for March + April referrals.”
On Tuesday he posted on his blog, 'Tao of Poker’, an email exchange between Pokerstars and himself. In the email, a representative from PokerStarsPartners.com, states that “As a result of these actions we regret to inform you that we are unable to pay our affiliates in respect of accumulated fees connected to US traffic delivered.”
It goes on to say, “All operations outside of the US will continue as usual and you will receive payment in respect of non-US traffic according to the terms of your agreement.”
Tuesday, Pauly also appeared on Hardcore Poker Show to discuss the issue. In his segment, beginning around ten minutes in to the show, he says that he believes this to have affected affiliates “across the board.”
As of writing, no other affiliates have come forward with similar stories. One commenter on the Taopoker blog responded, “I am a US based affiliate and received affiliate commissions for March from PokerStars and was able to cashout.”
Dr. Pauly replied, “Lucky you. They paid Tony G and PokerNews, but I got stiffed. “
