Table Ninja’s recently announced switch to a subscription pricing model for Table Ninja 2 (TN2) has resulted in a storm of protest on 2+2.
On explaining the pricing change, TN management posted: “Regarding TN2’s subscription model, we know this is a frustrating change but the fact is that since Black Friday and the rise of all the regional clients, the TableNinja 1 business model is not sustainable.”
TN2 represents a significant upgrade on the first version, but users have experienced an above average number of implementation problems which have added to the level of irritation. TN is responding and has already increased the supported number of tables from the original restriction to eight.
The full version of TN2 now costs $20 per month, or $150 per annum. The standard version is $10 per month. Updates for TN1 will cease on Aug 15th. TN1 owners can try the new version for up to five months for free.
