On Monday, the bad beat jackpot on the Merge Gaming Network that had grown in excess of $1m was distributed among the players sitting at the lucky table.
According to reports, quad Qs beat a player holding quad 7s at a $1/$2 Limit Hold’em table. Seventy percent of the jackpot was distributed to the table. The lucky loser of the hand received over $355k, the winner of the hand got over $177k and the other players dealt into the hand received more than $25k each.
Of the remaining 30% of the prize pool, the network took 10% as an administration fee and the remaining 20% was used to seed the new bad beat jackpot which is currently approaching $220k.
In order to qualify to win the bad beat jackpot on the Merge Gaming Network, the losing hand must be four 7s or better, both the winning and losing hand must use both hole cards to make their hands, a minimum of four players must be dealt into the hand with the hand reaching showdown and the pot being raked at least $0.50 on special bad beat tables.
