Both the promotions are born from a new concept. Particularly, the promotion on PokerStars.IN is a common tactic used by operators (often called an Early Bird promo) that incentivizes players to start games early.
The On-Time Rake Refund on PokerStars.IN does exactly the same. All those players who register prior to the start of the tournament are refunded the tournament fee, which is usually 10% of the buy-in. Only certain tournaments are eligible for this promotion and credits are carried out every Monday.
