- The Pineapple Poker variant has the same rules as Texas Hold’em but comes with a couple of twists: players are dealt three hole cards instead of two and must discard one of those three cards before the betting round begins. From there, the game resumes as a regular Hold’em game with the same hand rankings used.

Pineapple becomes Zynga Poker’s third new variant this year. It has been on a rampage, introducing new variants to its game offerings starting the year with the rollout of Short Deck (also known as 6+ Hold 'em). In Short Deck, the deck is stripped with the removal of Deuce to Five, and hand rankings are slightly modified.
