PokerStars US & CAN Players Get Final Shot at a Platinum Pass PokerStars US & CAN Players Get Final Shot at a Platinum Pass

The new year is almost upon us, and poker players far and wide are looking forward to the return of the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC), scheduled to launch in late January 2023. As the tournament draws closer, the opportunities to win the coveted PSPC Platinum Pass are fewer and fewer, but PokerStars US and Canada players still have at least one last shot.

PokerStars ambassador Jennifer Shahade is giving away a single $30,000 Platinum Pass to the player who can tell her the best poker hand story in the coming days.

All PokerStars US and Canada players are eligible to enter the competition, which will remain open until December 14. You will be required to tell a story of a poker stuck deep in your memory.

The competition was inspired by Shahade’s poker podcast, The Grid, in which famous poker players tell the stories of their big wins and bad beats with particular Texas Hold 'em starting hands.

How You Can Win the PSPC Platinum Pass

One of the last PokerStars-sponsored competitions offering a Platinum Pass for the 2023 PSPC is now underway and will remain open until Wednesday, December 14.

To enter the competition, you will be required to share a story of a poker hand you have played (real or fictional), regardless of whether it was played online or live, for high stakes or low, at cash games or tournament tables.

The only absolute requirement is that the poker hand story you tell is fun, engaging, and thrilling, — it won’t be enough to recant how you lost a hand while holding pocket Aces.

Instead, the judges will look for a story with a particular spark, which will inspire them, make them laugh, or teach them a lesson about the game or life.

You can submit your story in any format you desire, but video content will probably give you the best shot at winning, as it allows you to make the story more engaging.

Once you are ready to submit, all you need to do is upload your poker hand to the internet, whether via one of the social platforms like Twitter, a video platform like YouTube, or a personal blog.

If you submit your hand via social platforms, don’t forget to use #PlatinumPokerHand with the submission to ensure it’s seen by as much of the community as possible. Remember to post on an open social profile that all can access.

Once the story is up online, you need to email thepokergrid@gmail.com with the title Platinum Hand + [Your Name]. The email should contain your name and country of residence, a short intro story about you, and the link to your submission.

A team of judges — including Maria Ho and Sam Grafton — will review all the submissions and decide in good time to allow you to prepare for the ultimate poker trip of your lifetime.

What You Stand to Win

The lucky player whose story is deemed by the PokerStars judges as the most exciting tale will win one PSPC Platinum Pass, a coveted live tournament package worth $30,000.

Each Platinum Pass winner receives:

  • Entry into the $25,000 PSPC
  • Six nights’ accommodation in a 5-star hotel for two persons
  • $1900 in cash for expenses
  • Airport transfer
  • Platinum Pass experience
