2023 is a week old, and the Winter Series is ending on PokerStars Ontario. The series started back on Dec 26, featuring multiple daily numbered events and Special Edition games.
The final weekend of the Winter Series on the PokerStars Ontario real money app is about to get underway, with lots of juicy poker action spread across a fair few tournaments. Most eyes will be on the Main Event prizes: there will be three levels of the Main Event starting on Sunday, with more than a quarter of a million guaranteed across the three buy-in tiers.
In total, there is still nearly CAD $600k in guarantees to be paid out before the Winter Series concludes. Aside from the Main Event, there is $36k guaranteed in two levels of the Phased Winter Series 1. New Year Kicks Off with Big Prizes

Winter Series Leads to Chinese New Year
While the Winter Series officially ends on Jan 10, the tournament series action does not stop on PokerStars Ontario. Immediately after the Winter Series closes, the Chinese New Year Series is kicking off on Jan 13, according to the lobby info.
There is nearly $900k guaranteed in the 75-game series that runs through Jan 23. Among the series highlights are the $65k guaranteed Chinese New Year 65 Year of the Rabbit that takes place on Jan 22, but there are four events with guarantees of $50k or better and 16 tournaments promising at least $20k in prizes.
With 2023 as the first full year of operations for PokerStars Ontario, it is certainly starting off with a bang. The year-end straddling Winter Series is just winding down, but there will only be a few days of rest before players join the Chinese New Year festivities.
