Online poker start-up 4poker’s tournament ambitions continue to grow as the newly launched room announces four major events across the four Sundays in May — appropriately named 4Sundays.
These four audacious events put up $4 million in combined guarantees — quite remarkable given that the site launched tournaments only a month ago. These events carry buy-ins ranging from $320 and go all the way up to $10,300.
The first of the 4Sunday events got underway last week, kicking off the proceedings with a $500,000 guaranteed Sunday High Roller costing $5200. Needing over 100 entrants to avoid the overlay, the tournament attracted 74, leading to a costly $130,000 shortfall.
