While the biggest summer poker party in the world is wrapping up in Las Vegas, the seasons get flipped on their heads in the southern hemisphere and Brazil is in the middle of winter. Starting on July 19, PokerStars is helping to warm up the winter season with R$12 million guaranteed across the Brazil Series of Poker (BSOP) Winter Millions in São Paulo.
Eight days of poker are scheduled in Brazil’s biggest city, with poker action from July 19 through July 26. In fact, the PokerStars LIVE series got underway on Sunday, July 16, with an online home game freeroll, but the action proper kicks off this Wednesday, with the NLH Start Up Mystery KO with R$1,000,000 guaranteed for a R$1000 buy-in.
There are four games plus two satellites on the opening day of action, with R$2,000,000 guaranteed on the opening day alone. In addition to the million guaranteed in the opening Mystery event, the Super High Roller on the same day also guarantees R$1 million for a R$30k buy-in.
As always, the big game for the Series will be the Main Event, with live satellites kicking off on the opening day of play and the first flight to the Main starting on Thursday. The Main Event costs R$4000 to get in, with R$4 million guaranteed, so it is sure to be a massive game.

BSOP Heats Up Winter in São Paulo
Despite the wintery season, the poker action will be red hot in São Paulo this week as the BSOP makes its way to Brazil’s most populated city. This is the second of three planned stops in São Paulo, with the series returning in late November for a summer edition of the Millions.
There are 38 games to choose from across the eight days of poker action in Brazil this week, and the series jumps straight into the action. Opening day features four full tournaments plus two satellite shots at Main Event tickets, so players who make their way to São Paulo can hit the ground running with big action right from the start.
The games range in price from R$500 through $R30,000, so a wide range of buy-in options are available, catering to different bankroll sizes. There is a R$1.5 million guaranteed High Roller Event running on Monday, July 24, and several R$1 million guaranteed events across the week, as well as other games with guarantees of R$100k – R$500k with at least R$12 million in total guarantees across the whole series.
The big game, of course, will be the Main Event with at least R$4,000,000 to play for. Players have five shots to bag a Day 1 stack, including two turbo flights.
