While the online poker landscape has changed significantly in recent years, and there are a few rooms competing for their share of the market, there is one thing that no one can take away from PokerStars — it remains the only operator where players can log in and play all sorts of popular and less popular variations that go beyond Hold’em and PLO.
The latest move from PokerStars will further establish this position, as the room has just launched a new lineup of mixed game majors for every day of the week.
All tournaments feature a very affordable buy-in of $22, making them accessible to everyone, not just the high rollers or the poker elite. If you happen to be a fan of mixed games, you will love these new events.

A New Game Every Day
Daily mixed game majors at PokerStars kick off at 20:30 CET. The buy-in remains steady at $22, but the games change every day:
- Mondays: 2-7 Triple Draw
- Tuesdays: Limit Hold’em
- Wednesdays: Omaha Hi/Lo
- Thursdays: Razz
- Fridays: Seven Card Stud
- Saturdays: Stud Hi/Lo
Sundays are a special day in poker, so there is also a special treat for mixed game fans. The Sunday evening major is a $44 8-game event.
Although the operator made an official announcement on Twitter, the tournaments are still not showing in the lobby, so it remains to be seen what name this new strain of majors will get and what kind of guarantees PokerStars plans to put on them.
Right now, tournaments featuring less popular variations have fairly modest prize pools compared to the buy-in, but if the operator is taking the path of promoting mixed games, it might take a leap of faith and attach somewhat more generous guarantees to the new majors to create more interest.
As always, players looking to save money or those with smaller bankrolls will have plenty of opportunity to win seats in their desired events playing $2.20 satellites.

Positive Initial Reactions from the Community
Although mixed games are quite niche compared to Texas Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha, a decent percentage of players enjoy them, and those players can only find what they are after at PokerStars.
Several Twitter followers welcomed the news about the new lineup of mixed game tournaments, but some of them also commented about other games they would like to see included, such as Five Card Draw, Badacey, and dealer’s choice.
While PokerStars does have an impressive selection of variations, the likes of Baducey and Badacey are not available on the platform, and it is not likely the operator will go through the trouble of adding them to please a very small potential player pool.
On the other hand, Five Card Draw is readily available, and it would not be a surprise if this variation got its own major. As for the Dealer’s Choice, it is probably doable, and it could be in the works for some time in the future.
For now, seven brand new tournaments are coming for all the fans of mixed games, so brush up on your skills and get ready for daily action.
