Sunday is the biggest day in online poker, and two of 888poker’s biggest Sunday games will be a bit more accessible this week with cut-rate buy-ins. The Sunday Sale is a special event that happens periodically throughout the year, giving players a shot at the big games for half the price.
- $100,000 Sunday Sale Main Event Standard Buy-In: $109
- Slashed to only $55!
- $25,000 Sunday Sale High Roller Standard Buy-In: $525
- Slashed to only $265!
Players can see all the action on offer for the Sunday Sale days by clicking the Sunday Sale button on the filters pane in the 888poker lobby. That will isolate the games with the 50% buy-in currently on offer, but you should remember that the Sunday Sale is only offered a few times a year, so when the opportunity comes along, players should jump on it.
High Roller and Main Event for Half the Price
Sunday, August 13 is the next chance for players to get a shot at half-price entry for the big Sunday games. The current edition of the Sunday Sale features half-priced buy-ins for two of the biggest games on the 888poker schedule.
The best part of the Sunday Sale deal is that while players only pay half the buy-in cost, the events’ guarantees stay the same. That means that this coming Sunday, players will still be playing for the usual $125,000 in guarantees, but instead of paying $634 for the two games, they will be competing for those same guarantees this weekend for just $320.
The two tournaments featured for half-price this weekend are the $100k guaranteed Main Event, which usually costs $109 but this weekend is just $55, and the $25k guaranteed High Roller, reduced from $525 to just $265.
Get the Scoop on 888poker News and Strategy Tips from the eMagazine
One of the best parts of 888poker is the community engagement and strategy tips from the operator’s stable of sponsored pros and ambassadors. The 888poker eMagazine is a great place to find details on upcoming festivals, information, gossip from the poker world, news from 888poker, and strategy tips from some of the best players in the game.
Among the recent strategy pieces featured on the eMagazine is a look at how to transition from online poker to the live felt from ambassador Ian “Simpioni” Simpson. Simpson is a seasoned player on both the live and virtual felt, and he can regularly be found playing big games on 888poker on his Twitch channel.
He is usually dispensing advice about the online game while he streams, but Simpson, a former teacher from the UK turned poker pro, started his poker career with a win on the live felt at the PaddyPower Irish Poker Open 2013 worth almost $340k. He has notched up four other wins in live poker, and he has a slew of final table performances to go with them.
For online players interested in playing their first live poker tournament, Simpson looks at some of the differences between playing poker online and battling it out on the live felt.
That is just one of the articles on offer in the Strategy section of the eMagazine. Among the other recent strategy tips, readers will find a piece on self-talk by Dr. Tricia Cardner, advice on bluff catching the river, and a primer on the dynamics of multiway poker, both from Gary Plynch and 5 Tips for Your First Live Poker Tournament by Kara Scott.
