Things are heating up over on the PokerStars Ontario real money platform. Just a couple of days ago, the operator began adding satellites for the Summer Series live poker fest taking place in Philadelphia in a few weeks’ time, and now there is something for the fans of online action to enjoy as well.
We are talking about the ONCOOP Warm-Up Series, which kicks off Saturday, August 19, and will run throughout the month, wrapping up on August 28. With 59 individual events and over CAD $400,000 in guarantees, Ontario online poker players have plenty to look forward to.

ONCOOP Warm-Up Features Buy-ins for All Bankrolls
A quick glance at the schedule shows that the ONCOOP Warm-Up Series brings something for players of all shapes and sizes. Tournament buy-ins start as low as C$10, allowing all fans of MTTs to get involved and fight for their share of the big prize pool.
There is also a host of events in the C$20 – $100 region, with guarantees going from C$1000 up to C$15,000 for more expensive tournaments.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, PokerStars has prepared several $500 events for those with deeper pockets, and these tournaments naturally have the biggest guarantees, reaching as high as C$20,000.
The only thing that some players may not be thrilled about is that almost the entire schedule consists of No-Limit Hold’em events. Only four non-Hold’em tournaments are on the schedule, featuring PLO, PLO Hi-Lo, and Five-Card PLO.
Affordable Main Event & Other Big Prize Pools
The ONCOOP Warm-Up Main Event takes place on August 27, and it features the biggest guarantee of the series, with C$45,000 up for grabs. Despite this, the buy-in is set at a very reasonable C$100, making it easier for players to get involved.
If this is still out of your budget, there are satellites running around the clock with buy-ins of just C$5, each guaranteeing one seat for the main stage.
The C$45,000 guarantee is quite generous for the Ontario online poker market, but if previous numbers are anything to go by, PokerStars should have no problems exceeding the number of players needed to meet and exceed the original promise.
The biggest prize pool after the Main Event is the ONCOOP Warm-Up Event #10 — Sunday Special SE. The tournament features C$35,000 in guarantees as well as nine C$300 tickets for the 2023 ONCOOP Main Event for the top nine finishers. This event has the buy-in of C$100 as well.
In terms of value for money, we must also mention the C$100 The Brawl SE. Taking place on August 21, this 7-max tournament comes with a promise of at least C$15,000.
There are also two C$500 events with C$20,000 guarantees, but these may be a bit out of reach for most recreational players, so you can expect the competition to be much tougher.
