It has been 12 years since the UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) stopped in Brighton on the south coast of the UK, but the PokerStars Live tour is in the seaside community once again in 2023. From September 5 through September 10, PokerStars will be bringing the UKIPT for six days of poker action.
While the south coast city of Brighton is sometimes known as “London by the Sea,” it has a unique flavor of its own that sets it apart from the bustling capital about 75 miles north.
This week, in addition to the usual seaside culture of fish and chips and deck chairs, the poker action is ongoing all week after the cards went in the air on September 5 for a couple of qualifier games and the opening NLH event at Brighton’s Rendezvous Casino Marina.
The featured event in the week-long poker festival is the £1100 Main Event, which runs its first Day 1 flight on Thursday, September 7, at 2 p.m. local time. There are two more Day 1 flights for the Main running Friday for players to bag a stack for the final two days of play on the weekend, including a turbo 1C flight for fans of ultra-fast poker.
Among Brighton’s other events on the calendar are a Women’s event, an 8-game, and the £330 multi-day UKIPT Cup, with two starting flights before it wraps up on Sunday alongside the Main Event final day. In addition to all the regular tournaments, the week is chock-full of qualifiers to help players get into the bigger action for pennies on the pound.

It has been 12 years since the UKIPT last came to the south shores of the United Kingdom in 2011, but the regional tour of the British Isles from PokerStars is once again back at Rendezvous Casino Marina in Brighton for another exciting week of seaside poker.
Things have changed a bit since 2011, with this year’s Main Event set at double the price of the £550 Main Event the last time the tour came to town, but the poker excitement will no doubt be just as strong.

UKIPT from Blackpool to Brighton and Beyond
After taking the month of August off following the most recent event in Blackpool, the UKIPT is back in force starting in September. There are still stops planned in London, Edinburgh, and Nottingham before 2023 gives way to 2024.
There is still plenty of time to get in on the action in Brighton with Main Event and UKIPT Cup action planned for the weekend, but players who can’t be in Brighton to play themselves can still catch the action on the PokerStars Twitch and YouTube channels, as well as PokerStars Blog infohub for Brighton.
