Online poker giant PokerStars is testing out a new cash game promotion called Prize Drop, PRO can reveal.
Launched on September 19 and available for a limited period through September 27, the promotion offers players extra rewards to those who play cash games at select stakes. These Prize Drop rewards could be worth up to 35 times the big blind.
This new promotion is being tested in certain ring-fenced markets, including Ontario and Italy, and is only available to select players. It if proves successful in incentivizing play, PokerStars may extend its reach to other jurisdictions, potentially including the global dot-com market.
The operator clarified, in its official Discord room, that the promotion is currently in a testing phase; it has not been rolled out to all players. The reason behind this restriction is to collect data and evaluate the promotion’s performance, the operator stated.
