Just few hours ago, BetMGM Poker has confirmed that it’s finalized the merger of its Michigan and New Jersey platforms, bringing player pools from both states together. Customers from BetMGM Poker MI, BetMGM Poker NJ, and the other two sister sites operating in New Jersey (PartyPoker and Borgata Poker) will be a part of a unified player pool moving forward.
This move should see the network traffic almost double effectively, which bodes well for the players. Moving forward, there should be more action across the site, and the operator is also promising bigger MTT prize pools and new tournament series to mark this important milestone.
With this, BetMGM becomes the third operator to take advantage of Michigan joining the MSIGA. Earlier this year, WSOP.com combined the Michigan player pool with its existing NJ-NV network, while PokerStars US was the first to bring together its MI and NJ platforms shortly after the option was made possible.
- Up to $75 in MTT tickets on top of the bonus
- Frequent MTT series with good guarantees
- Great action around the clock
It’s a Win for the Players
Whenever a regulated US poker site crosses the borders of a particular state and combines player pools from two or more jurisdictions, it’s good news for the players. It means a bigger player pool, resulting in more action at cash tables and bigger tournament fields with larger guarantees.
This is exactly what BetMGM Poker US is promising, coming out of the woodwork with a refreshed tournament schedule that features more appetizing guarantees across the board and adding a new weekly MTT series to the docket, dubbed Big Shots.
According to the initial info, Big Shots will be a series of nightly events, offering not just big prize pools, but also featuring player leaderboards and other perks for those who perform well on the virtual felt of the newly-combined platform.
The operator is spreading some love to the its SPINS format as well. Popular lottery-style sit and goes will now offer a top multiplier of 2,400 times the buy-in, and a new $50 buy-in level is added to the mix. This means that players can now win prizes that go as high as $100,000 playing these games.
Full Steam Ahead
To celebrate this important development in stile, the combined BetMGM Poker US platform will also hold its Online Championship series with $2,000,000 up for grabs. The Championship kicks off on November 17, and we should have more details about the series shortly.
Cash game players can look forward to more action across the board. Prior to the merger, NJ online poker and MI online poker sites featured similar player traffic numbers, which means the combined platform should see double the action, offering more opportunities for all the grinders out there to stay busy.
The merger between the two platforms was completed yesterday, and to the best of our knowledge, there are no special actions players need to take. You should be able to log in with your existing account and jump straight into the action.
It is still early days, so we expect more information to come out in the coming days, including some nice bonuses and promotions across the board. As always, we’ll make sure to keep you up to date about any and all important developments.
For those who don’t have an account with BetMGM Poker just yet, this might be a great time to sign up for one and take advantage of the welcome bonus worth over $1,000!
