BetMGM Poker typically hosts its Online Championships series in the US between September and October. However, this year it delayed the series, and now we know why: it was waiting for the merger of Michigan and New Jersey player pools, which finally happened last week.
Now, the BetMGM Poker flagship online tournament series is back, taking advantage of the new shared liquidity pool.
The BetMGM Poker Online Championships series will offer a $2 million guaranteed prize pool in the newly launched shared liquidity network spanning New Jersey and Michigan, marking the network’s largest tournament series to date.
- Up to $75 in MTT tickets on top of the bonus
- Frequent MTT series with good guarantees
- Combined player pools in Michigan and New Jersey
In Pennsylvania, which remains segregated, the operator will host a $800,000 guaranteed series, also marking BetMGM’s largest series in the Keystone State.
Both series will run concurrently kicking off on November 17 and will run through December 1.

Series Details
Aside from the differences in guarantees, the two series share many similarities. Both feature 58 events, with 22 of them being Trophy events, where winners will receive a Trophy in addition to the first-place prize. Furthermore, both series offer high buy-ins compared to other tournament series at BetMGM, ranging from $50 to $2,500.
The tournaments themselves are largely identical, featuring a similar lineup, including three standout events: the $1,000 Six-Figure Sunday High Roller, the $2,500 Super High Roller, and the $1,000 BetMGM Poker Online Championship.
Other tournaments in the schedule include BetMGM’s signature brands like C-Note, Sunday Main, Sunday Deepstack, and more. The events also feature a variety of formats, including Progressive Knockouts (PKOs), Turbos, and several Omaha variants—such as standard PLO, PLO8, and the rarer No Limit Omaha. All tournaments across both series are offered in 6-handed, 7-handed, and 8-handed structures.
Both series will feature a leaderboard promotion, although the details have yet to be released.
Step satellites are available for both series, with similar pricing starting at $2 for Step 1, $10 for Step 2, and $100 for the final step. These satellites are currently available for major events like Six-Figure Sunday, Online Championship, and Super High Roller.
The primary difference between the two series lies in the guarantees. In the shared liquidity network, guarantees range from $6,000 to $300,000, while the guarantees for BetMGM Poker Pennsylvania start at $2,500 and go up to $125,000.
Shared Liquidity Boosts Championships
BetMGM Online Poker Championships is no doubt the operator’s most prestigious tournament series, typically held two to three times a year—once in the summer, once in winter, and the most esteemed edition during the autumn. BetMGM Ontario already hosted one in September, with over CAD $500,000 in guarantees.
In the US market, prior to the merger, the BetMGM Online Championships series typically featured $750,000 in combined guarantees, spread across all three states.
However, with the advent of shared liquidity, BetMGM can now offer much larger prize pools, making it possible to host a series of this scale. Along with an increase in the number of tournaments, the higher guarantees have made the series even more attractive to players.

It now leads by a wide margin over rivals PokerStars and WSOP Online, both of which also operate shared liquidity networks.
The BetMGM Online Championships follows October’s Gridiron Classic series, which featured over $900,000 in combined guarantees across three states. A unique highlight of the series was the inclusion of “jersey events,” where winners received custom football jerseys.
