888poker is certainly closing 2024 on a high. After announcing its full live schedule for 2025 and bringing its Happy Holidays sale this week, the company is now bringing back high stakes action to the online ring game tables.
New limits are available for traditional No Limit Hold’em tables as well as operator’s Push or Fold games, with action running around the clock.
The new tables now being spread are:
- No Limit Hold’em: $10/$20 and $25/50
- Push or Fold: $10/$20, $25/$50, $50/$100, and $100/$200
New Stakes and New Challenges
With the introduction of high stakes games, 888poker is looking to cater to serious grinders and recreational players with big bankrolls who are looking to take on new challenges. While the two groups may have slightly different goals, they have one thing in common — that’s the desire to compete at the highest level.
High limit games have always had a special place in the poker world, providing excitement created by huge pots and massive bets that really put players to the test. Moving forward, 888 will start offering that environment once again.
Players across all high stakes games will also get to enjoy low rake, which is capped at $5, regardless of how big a pot gets. This is certainly welcome news for all the regs, but many recreational players who play at these stakes are aware of the impact of the rake and they’ll probably appreciate the low cap as well.
At this time, there is no mention of higher stakes being added for PLO, but this might be in the cards as well, provided there is enough interest. That said, if you’re a fan of the Great Game, you’ll have to wait at least a bit longer.
It’s a Big Week for Tournament Players, Too
While the latest announcement from 888poker will please all the cash game grinders out there, MTT players certainly have plenty to be excited about this week.
Namely, from Dec 16 to 23, the operator is running its special Happy Holidays Sale promotion, offering all of the biggest tournaments on the site at 50% of their usual buy-ins. While buy-ins have been slashed, guarantees have remained intact, creating plenty of extra value.
For those players who don’t discriminate and enjoy both types of action, this is definitely the week to take advantage of, as big tournament series or special promotions aimed at MTTs tend to significantly improve traffic at cash game tables across all stakes.
Whether you want to put in some volume between the tournaments or grind exclusively ring games, it’s safe to assume there’ll be plenty of action pretty much around the clock, and even the newly introduced high stakes games might be softer than what you’d expect them to
