The 2025 WSOPC Toronto festival is quickly approaching! There are now about three weeks left before cards get in the air at the Great Canadian Resort to mark the official start of the series.
The C$2,000 Main Event begins on April 17, featuring three starting flights. Every day will be capped at 540 players (plus alternates), and if last year is any indicator, those seats will be in high demand.
Many Main Event spots will be reserved long before the tournament starts, thanks to GGPoker Ontario. The operator has been running daily satellites for the 2025 WSOP Toronto Circuit, and more than 100 players have already qualified.

Seats Flying Off the Shelf
Although WSOPC Toronto online satellites kicked off at full capacity a few days ago, GGPoker Ontario has already awarded over 100 seats for the Main Event, and this trend will continue over the coming weeks.
The operator is running C$50 Mega Satellites every day, with 10 seats guaranteed. Players can buy into Mega Satellites directly or get into them via cheaper C$10 and C$1 qualifiers.
Additionally, GGPoker will be running satellites for the ROW players, adding even more qualifiers to the mix.
Back in 2024, more than 300 players in the Main Event secured their seats via online qualifiers, and from what we’ve seen so far, that number is poised to be significantly higher this time around.
This doesn’t come as a surprise, seeing that GGPoker and Great Canadian Resort signed a partnership earlier this year, making GGPoker the official sponsor of the venue’s poker room.
So, for those eager to play in the Main Event, online satellites represent a very good choice. Not only do these tournaments provide an opportunity to get in the action at a discount, but all qualifiers will have their seats secured, while everybody else will have to wait in registration lines, and the remaining seats will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Big Expectations for the WSOP Toronto 2025
The 2024 WSOPC in Toronto was a big success, and it created a lot of hype. Driven by that enthusiasm and with the new partnership in place, Great Canadian Resort and GGPoker are going all out for this year.
Although there are no official guarantees, the Main Event is expected to boast a prize pool in excess of C$3,000,000, which is a very realistic expectation, seeing how the 2024 version awarded C$2.8 million.
The series schedule has been expanded as well, featuring eleven ring events instead of eight and adding some more interesting things to the mix, such as the mystery bounty event.
Last year, the entire series awarded in excess of C$5.5 million, and with the expansion of the schedule and everything else happening around the series in 2025, we expect that number to grow quite significantly this time around.
It will be a fun and exciting series, and there is still plenty of time to punch your ticket online and ensure there is a seat waiting for you once the action gets underway!
