All three major US online poker networks are hosting tournament series this month.
BetMGM Poker and WSOP Online are running their March Poker Mania and March Mayhem series, respectively, with modest guarantees capped at $400,000. Meanwhile, PokerStars is hosting a much larger event—the iconic SCOOP series—featuring over $2.25 million in guarantees across hundreds of tournaments.
Each of these networks operates a shared liquidity player pool across at least two states. PokerStars and BetMGM connect their online poker rooms in New Jersey and Michigan while also operating in the ring-fenced Pennsylvania market. WSOP, on the other hand, connects three states: New Jersey, Michigan, and Nevada, giving it the widest multi-state reach.

PokerStars vs WSOP vs BetMGM
PokerStars’ SCOOP (Spring Championship of Online Poker) was the first to launch, kicking off on March 21 and running through April 7 with over $2.25 million in guarantees. As one of PokerStars’ biggest series, it features 132 tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $5 to $2,500. For Pennsylvania poker players, a separate SCOOP series guarantees $2 million across 129 tournaments.
WSOP’s March Mayhem followed, starting on Sunday, March 23, and concluding this Sunday. While significantly smaller than SCOOP, with just one tournament per day, it carries prestige with $405,000 guaranteed across eight tournaments. Buy-ins range from $55 to $888. No equivalent series is running on WSOP’s PA platform.
BetMGM’s March Poker Mania was the last to begin, running from March 25 to March 31. In its shared liquidity network, the series offers $290,500 in guarantees across 15 tournaments, while the Pennsylvania edition features the same number of events with $131,500 in total guarantees. Buy-ins range from $5 to $500.
Each series is quite different and unique in its own way. If you are looking for variety and large guarantees, PokerStars’ SCOOP is the best option. It offers a wide range of formats, from turbos and mystery bounties to progressive knockouts and niche variants such as Zoom, Bubble Rush, and Win the Button.
Also, the series includes various poker variants, including mixed games, Single Draw, Badugi, and Stud games. The Main Events feature big guarantees, ranging from $50,000 to $200,000. The Pennsylvania SCOOP edition follows a similar schedule but with slightly lower guarantees.
As per tradition, SCOOP also includes several Championship events, with winners receiving a trophy in addition to their cash prize. The series further offers a depositor freeroll, a Player of the Series leaderboard, and other special promotions.
BetMGM’s March Poker Mania is a solid choice for those looking for select events with decent guarantees, especially if you are a sports fan. The Main Event, featuring a $250 buy-in, boasts a $55,000 guaranteed prize pool. Other notable events include the Slam Dunk PKO, Pot-Limit Omaha, and the classic Rebuy/Add-on format.
Winners of March Poker Mania tournaments will receive customized BetMGM jerseys. Additionally, there is an invitational freeroll for players participating in the series, offering a chance to win sports betting tickets and satellite entries to an upcoming ARIA event, with tickets valued at $5.
WSOP’s March Mayhem is an excellent choice for those seeking fun and excitement through Mystery Bounty tournaments. In fact, five out of the eight scheduled tournaments use this format, including the Main Event on the final day, which features a $100,000 guarantee for a $500 buy-in.
Other highlights include a $215 buy-in PKO tournament with a $30,000 guarantee, while the remaining two events are traditional No-Limit Hold’em tournaments with buy-ins of $215 and $320.
The only network absent from the lineup is the newly launched BetRivers Poker. Currently operating exclusively in Pennsylvania, it went live last October, making it the newest platform compared to the well-established three networks.
While it has yet to introduce a major tournament series, BetRivers is expected to debut once it expands to other states with shared liquidity functionality.
