PokerStars The Big Game on Tour Season 2 Starts Airing in May PokerStars The Big Game on Tour Season 2 Starts Airing in May

The long-awaited confirmation for Season 2 of The Big Game on Tour air dates is finally here. In its recent press release, PokerStars announced that new episodes of one of fans’ favorite shows will start airing this May.

Season 2 was filmed during last year’s NAPT in Las Vegas, but, unlike the first time, the operator has revealed very few details about what we can expect. We have some idea about who will be in the lineups, but the names of loose cannons remain a mystery.

In preparation for this big moment, PokerStars will be releasing The Big Game on Tour Uncut, featuring all 150 hands from the first half of the initial season.

All Action, Hand by Hand

The Big Game on Tour features a player dubbed the loose cannon, who is staked $50,000 to play 150 hands against a lineup selected by PokerStars. During the normal airing of the show, viewers get to witness the biggest pots and most intense situations.

Now, with Season 2 looming, PokerStars will be releasing the full footage of the first 150 hands, featuring Nikki Limo as the loose cannon, playing against Phil Hellmuth, Jen Tilly, Alan Keating, Lex Veldhuis, Griffin Benger, and Arden Cho.

The entire session of The Big Game on Tour Uncut will be streamed on the PokerStars YouTube channel on April 4 and 5, starting at 21:00 CET, giving everyone a chance to see the full experience of being a loose cannon. Expert commentary from Maria Ho, Jason Koon, Joe Stapleton, James Hartigan, Alan Keating, Griffin Benger, and Sam Grafton will help spice things up.

Grafton teased the release of this uncut segment recently on the Poker in the Ears Podcast, saying: “It’s a smart play. We have this great footage. It’s like they reduced The Godfather to a 40-minute episode. You have to give people the chance to see what happened.”

And we couldn’t agree more!

Counting Days to the New Season

The all of poker fandom is looking forward to the new season of The Big Game on Tour. PokerStars decided to bring back the popular show after a long hiatus, and if reactions to the first season of the revived Big Game are anything to go by, their decision was spot on.

The operator has been unusually quiet about the new season, though, after initially releasing a few details about who will be in the mix. We know that lineups will feature the soccer legend Gerard Pique, NFL star Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski, and Nick Wright, a sports media personality.

Beyond this, though, there is a veil of mystery surrounding this season of The Big Game on Tour, and perhaps it is for the best. We’ll be going into it with fresh eyes and no particular expectations, able to watch and enjoy the action as it unfolds.

Last time around, Lily Newhouse managed to come out on top and walk away a winner, with a hefty profit of $55,000, while things didn’t quite pan out for Nikki Limo.

Can new loose cannons improve on these results? How well will they be able to handle the pressure of high stakes and limelights? We’ll find out soon enough!
