After announcing that The Big Game on Tour will start airing for Season 2 in May a couple of weeks back, PokerStars has come out with further details, revealing almost everything fans were eager to know.
The first episode of the new season will go live on the operator’s YouTube channel on Saturday, May 24, and, presumably, new episodes will continue to roll out on a weekly basis.
In a recent blog post, PokerStars also uncovered the full lineup for the first half of the season, with one exception. We still don’t know who will sit in the Loose Cannon seat, and, by the looks of it, this information will remain a mystery until May 17.
On May 17, PokerStars will air a special episode that will showcase the entire process of how Loose Cannons were selected, and the show will help further build the hype for the new season of one of the most popular poker shows ever made.
Fun Mix of Celebs & Seasoned Pros
Although we already had some information about players on The Big Game on Tour, PokerStars has finally confirmed the first lineup, which represents an interesting mix of professional players and poker-playing celebrities.
- Jennifer Tilly — an actress, reality star, and poker player
- Gerard Pique — soccer superstar with a knack for poker
- Sam Grafton — an experienced poker pro and PokerStars Ambassador
- Griffin Benger — known, among other things, as the Shark Cage Champion
- Andre Akkari — a PokerStars Ambassador and a Brazilian poker legend
These are five of six players who we’ll get to watch in action over the next few weeks. The sixth and final seat will be occupied by the Loose Cannon, but PokerStars remains tightlipped as to the identity of this mystery player.

Old Format and New Thrills
PokerStars did not change any of the rules for Season 2, which was filmed during last year’s North American Poker Tour in Las Vegas.
Each Loose Cannon is staked $50,000, and they have to play 150 hands. Once they play the required number of hands, any profit they make over the initial $50,000 is theirs to keep in its entirety.
The premise is fairly simple, but, as we saw last year (and during many episodes of the original show), Loose Cannons often find themselves in tricky spots with a couple of dozen hands to go.
Whether it’s them deciding if they’re happy with a small profit or trying to turn things around playing from behind, the show is filled with twists, turns, and the kind of excitement that you don’t get when you watch only the pros play.
For Loose Cannons, this is a unique opportunity to win a substantial amount of money while rubbing elbows with some of poker’s greatest stars and celebrities from other walks of life. Even those who don’t manage to turn a profit walk away with an experience that most poker fans can only dream about.
Once again, the new season will start airing on May 24 on the PokerStars YouTube channel, preceded by a May 17 special that will show the full story of Loose Cannons we’ll get to watch over the next few months, sweating them in big pots and sharing in on the whirlwind of emotions that is The Big Game on Tour!
