888poker Heads to Edinburgh for the Next Leg of the UKPL 888poker Heads to Edinburgh for the Next Leg of the UKPL

Residents of Scotland and poker fans from all over the UK (and beyond) will get a chance to enjoy another exciting and affordable series powered by 888poker come June.

The Edinburgh leg of the United Kingdom Poker League (UKPL) is set to take place June 17 — 22 at Grosvenor Casino’s The Maybury. The casino is located inside an impressive art deco building, so those in attendance will get to enjoy a rather unique, upscale experience without having to break the bank.

The full UKPL Edinburgh schedule is not out just yet, but if the recently concluded series in Newcastle, which saw 888poker’s own Ian Simpson triumphant in the Main Event, is anything to go by, the tournament offering will be both versatile and affordable.

Many Paths to the Main Event Seat

One tournament we know will be featured on the schedule for sure is the £560 Main Event, as this is the standard across all of 2025 UKPL stops.

The tournament will feature multiple Day 1s to give as many players as possible a chance to get involved. The simplest way to do so is to buy in directly, but if the asking price is outside of your budget, there are other, more affordable paths.

888poker is running online satellites to the UKPL Edinburgh Main Event, with a buy-in of $55. You can enter these directly, or you can qualify for them via step qualifiers. Step 1 satellites are available for as little as one cent, so a Main Event seat is within everyone’s reach.

Experience the Unique Flare of the Scottish Capital

The Edinburgh leg of the UK Poker League promises a lot of fun and some big prizes to go along. The Newcastle Main Event saw a turnout of 344 entries, resulting in a quite impressive prize pool of £163,400. There is no reason to think Edinburgh can’t replicate or even improve upon that success.

The side events action should be strong as well. We’ll probably see some dozen tournaments, with buy-ins starting at around £100. This includes a number of live Main Event satellites for those who don’t manage to secure their seat online but are still interested in getting a discount on their buy-in.

There will be plenty to do away from poker tables as well. Edinburgh has a long and fascinating history, so if you’re looking to get out of the poker room and do some sightseeing, you won’t be disappointed.

From ancient buildings and fascinating landmarks (including the impressive Edinburgh Castle dating back to the 12th century) over numerous galleries and museums to modern bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, this vibrant city has something in store for every visitor.

If you want the experience of a high-level poker tournament without paying massive buy-ins, 888poker’s events are the perfect choice, whether it is the UKPL or the main 888poker LIVE tour. The Edinburgh series is still a few weeks away, so you have plenty of time to make the necessary arrangements and join hundreds of poker players who’ll descend upon the city come June.
