Another 888poker UKPL Festival Gets Underway in Edinburgh Another 888poker UKPL Festival Gets Underway in Edinburgh

The UK Poker League powered by 888poker is back for its fourth stop of 2025. Following on events in Portsmouth, Newcastle, and Reading South, the festival has traveled to Edinburgh, where the Grosvenor Casino will once more welcome players from all over the country and beyond.

Created with casual players in mind, the UK Poker League features schedules with very affordable buy-ins, where all Main Events are priced at just £560, and the Edinburgh Main Event is no exception to this rule.

Things officially got underway on June 17 with the £250 Opening Voyage event, but there is a lot more yet to come over the course of the week, with the biggest action kicking in on the weekend.

£100k up for Grabs in the Main Event

The UKPL Edinburgh Main Event comes with a hefty guarantee of £100,000, which is nothing to scoff at given the small buy-in and numerous satellites running around the clock leading up to the event. In weeks prior, players could also win their tournament seats online, with qualifiers starting as low as £1.

Day 1 flights for the Main Event take place on Thursday, June 19, as well as Friday, and Saturday. There are four total starting flights available (one on Thursday, two on Friday, and one on Saturday), giving players a fair chance to bag some chips for Day 2 on June 22.

Scattered across the schedule are numerous Cashout Satellites, priced at £150. In these satellites, players only need to accumulate a certain number of chips to punch their ticket to the Main Event, which not only makes them quicker but much more interesting to play as well.

More Exciting Action in Scottland

In addition to the Main Event, the UKPL Edinburgh festival brings a nice schedule of side events for all player types and all bankroll sizes.

The Opening Voyage event, which is now in its final stages, features a guarantee of £50,000, as does the £1,100 High Roller. Neither of these two tournaments could be called expensive, but the Voyage is certainly among the cheapest live tournaments around to offer such a handsome guarantee.

The 888poker Big Shot on June 22 is another worthwhile event, featuring a buy-in of £200 and a promise of £15,000. On that same day, there is also a £150 Seniors event on the docket.

The action will officially wrap up on Wednesday, June 23, with an online Mystery Bounty event, which means you don’t need to be at the venue to join the fun.

Inching Closer to the Grand Finale

Following the UKPL Edinburgh festival, 888poker will be traveling to Liverpool for the penultimate stop on the 2025 League schedule. Once the action wraps up in Liverpool in October, the stage will be set for the Grand Finale.

While details are still somewhat scarce, we know that the Grand Finale is set to take place November 11 — 16 at the Grosvenor Casino in Coventry. It will crown another hugely successful season of the growingly popular UK Poker League, and if numbers we’ve seen throughout the year are any indicator, the Coventry event will be an action-packed affair through and through.
