Using its biggest ambassadors to promote their online poker rooms, PokerStars has made sure the soccer season is getting off to a flying start.
The PokerStars Dream Team Collection promotion has been backed with global TV advertising along with a huge social media push. The marketing efforts have been called the biggest in the poker room’s history.
The campaign was first promoted exclusively on Facebook, reaching the stars’ combined social media following of more than 150 million football fans.
The social reach of PokerStars’ newest ambassadors is definitely not to be underestimated as currently Christiano Ronaldo’s video has been liked almost 160,000 times and shared 8400 times with Neymar not too far behind with nearly 81,500 likes and 5800 shares.
The Resulting Traffic Spike
Since the campaign launched in the dot-com market two weeks ago, PokerStars cash game traffic has increased by 8.6%, reaching their highest traffic level in two months, according to traffic figures from Poker Industry PRO provided by PokerScout.com.
Traffic in its regional markets has also seen an increase since the promotion began.
In Italy, PokerStars has spiked nearly 30% since the promotion started there, achieving the highest traffic levels since May and boosting PokerStars.IT back into the top five online poker rooms in the world based on cash game traffic.
PokerStars’ Spanish online poker room was one of the first to see the benefits as the promotion kicked off there about a month ago. Since then, cash game traffic has jumped 20% reaching levels last seen in April.
With only a week since the promotion started in France, traffic at PokerStars.FR is already up more than 9%, and additional gains will likely follow as the Dream Team Collection promotion runs through the end of the month.
Using such high profile celebrities with devoted fans and followers is surely bolstering the strength of the marketing campaign; an enviable asset to the PokerStars marketing machine. Without a doubt, PokerStars is kick starting its seasonal recovery and all signs are pointing to better things to come for the group.
