The 888poker network is currently testing out a new feature to allow players to create their own private, invite-only cash tables and tournaments, similar to the “Home Games” feature pioneered by PokerStars.
Dubbed “lounges,” the new addition – currently being tested by PokerStrategy.com members – has one trick up its sleeve that will make it unique to similar offerings at other poker rooms: it will be combined with its webcam technology to bring video and audio feeds of all the players in the game. This should provide an interesting additional interactive element for games between friends and family.
888, also referred to as the Pacific Poker Network, has seen impressive growth over the last year, according to data from PokerScout. It recently moved to 4th position in the global rankings, sneaking ahead of Euro rival the Ongame Network.
