Antonius Wins iGame Challenge in 81 Hands

It took Patrik Antonius just 81 hands to dust off his challenger in the iGame challenge, which pitted one hopeful opponent against the seasoned professional in a live-streaming heads up event.

To promote the new online gaming brand iGame, the ex-Full Tilt Pro signed up to play up to two heads up matches against a single opponent. The challenger, Rui Faria from Portugal, had the opportunity to win €20k if he beat Antonius in two matches, and €5k if he won the first and lost the second.

Unfortunately, Faria’s hopes were dashed in short order. With stack sizes at just over 30 big blinds—giving little space for maneuver—the two opponents got it in on the flop, Antonius with a nut-flush draw vs. Faria’s top pair. Antonius’ diamond came on the river.

The iGame.com brand recently launched, first with a poker skin on the new fast-fold poker network developed by Relax Gaming, and later with the addition of a traditional poker room on IGT/Entraction. iGame Ltd, based in Malta, also operates the Finnish PokeriHuone brand and IGT skin 24hPoker.

The challenge took place on IGT, and was broadcast live with commentary.
