With the current regulatory upheaval throughout Europe and overall contraction of the industry, now might not seem like the best time to jump in to the internet poker room business. But that has not stopped Malta-based B3W Group, who this week quietly launched a new poker room product under the “Yachting” brand.
Founded in 1998, B3W is known for its small group of online casinos, including Casino Broceliande, Bet In Paris and Yachting Casino. The new Yachting Poker is the first in B3W’s new poker network. The network launch aims to showcase the new software to new and existing white-label partners and attract more skins.
The US-restricted site seems to offer most of the basics, with Hold’em, Omaha and Stud games in cash and a variety of tournament formats. 30% rakeback is advertised through the site. No games were running – cash or play money – so the client could not be tested to any real extent.
The brand has courted some controversy in the past. In 2006, statistical analysis of one of their video poker games, reported on gambling advisory website Wizard of Odds, raised concerns over the fairness of the game. Reportedly the issue was later fixed although remained unverified.
