The PokerStars owned European Poker Tour (EPT) has announced a 45 event schedule for this year’s EPT10 Deauville Festival starting on January 22. This will be the seventh year the EPT has held a festival at the French seaside town.
The EPT events will be joined by the France Poker Series (FPS) Season 3 Grand Final from January 22 – 26. The €5,300 EPT Main Event will follow immediately, starting on the 26th, it carries a €500k guaranteed prize pool. The €10,300 EPT High Roller 8 handed single rebuy tournament should also attract some big name players.
Last year, the Main Event was won—appropriately, and to the joy of local fans—by French player Remi Castaignon who took home a first prize of €770k. The Festival will end with a low buy in €120 NLHE Hyper Turbo with 10K stacks and 10 minute levels.
The Global Poker Index (GPI) will use the event to host its 12th GPI European Poker Awards ceremony on January 29.
Alexandre Dreyfus, GPI President said:
The European Poker Awards are going to recognise the best performers in European poker over the last year.… it will be a great opportunity to showcase our sport to the public: whether you are a poker player or not, this event is an important part of showing that poker is a fun, safe and competitive game that anyone can play.
