The Week’s Top 10 Online Poker Losers
Last week Gus Hansen won $490,744. The week before he was a $770,139 loser, and the week before that a $260,958 loser. It is difficult to predict where Hansen will land in the charts from week to week, and this week he ended up a big loser again after landing on the opposite side of the fence to Niklas “ragen70” Heinecker.
Hansen dropped a staggering $1,029,238, with $973,361 of those losses coming from 28 sessions and 3,107 hands of Triple Draw. His loss makes him almost a $1-million-a-month loser on the Triple Draw tables after this week’s performance put him down $3,062,783 for the year in these games. His overall losses across all games now stands at $2,784,306 for 2014.
Phil “Polarizing” Ivey was also not in good form as he lost $416,224 in 31 sessions and 5,539 hands of 8-Game. On the PLO tables Ivey lost $60,390 and sent another $71,798 to his opposition playing Triple Draw. Had he not pulled back $234,175 playing 6 sessions and 1,422 of PLO Hi/Lo, his week could have been far worse.
Viktor “Isildur1” Blom was another big name to record a huge loss. Blom lost $267,344 on the PLO tables, $209,590 on the PLO Hi/Lo tables, $196,233 playing Triple Draw, $143,309 playing 8-Game and $66,835 on the NLH tables—making him the week’s biggest all-round loser on the online poker tables.
Last week Blom was leading the yearly profits, but after a week of disappointment he has surrendered his position to Dan “Jungleman12” Cates, who is now number one for 2014 with 285 sessions played and 36,601 hands making a $1,026,236 profit. In the meantime, Blom’s 1,043 sessions and 114,257 hands in 2014 have left him with only a $242,010 profit—down from $1,125,321 last week.
