Microgaming unveiled a new look to its online poker lobby this week, with the client update rolled out to select poker rooms.
Betsson was one of the first to debut the redesign when its new Microgaming poker room was launched on Thursday and, according to the Microgaming PR, Betsson was “integral in shaping the design and functions” of the new lobby.
The major change is the removal of the left-hand sidebar for selecting game types and stakes, replaced instead by a simpler tiered tab system. Large buttons at the top allow the player to switch between cash games and tournaments, then a lower set of tiers allow players to filter by game types.
The bad-beat jackpot (BBJ) ticker has been given more prominence, taking center stage on the menu bar. Alongside Boss Media/GTECH G2, Microgaming is one of the few remaining sites to still feature the BBJ; PartyPoker removed them in March and Merge Gaming announced the same in August (the last BBJ was hit on Merge just last week).
Beyond the navigation changes, not much more has changed; seated players, “tip of the day” and the large banner advertisement on the right remain, and tables themselves have not been altered.
