888poker has moved into third place in online cash game traffic for the first time, pushing Full Tilt into fourth.
According to the latest data tracked by independent monitor PokerScout, 888 now boasts a higher number of average concurrent players than FTP over the last seven days.
Less than three months ago, pokerfuse reported that 888poker had moved ahead of Party to gain the number four spot, its highest ever at that time. Since then, 888’s traffic has grown roughly 5%, against the market trend.
When Full Tilt originally launched in late 2012, it debuted in the number two position, substantially behind its sibling PokerStars, but comfortably ahead of the rest of the competition. However, in that time its traffic drop has outpaced the market’s general seasonal decline. Having changed places with iPoker four times since launch, it succumbed to third place last week, and is down in fourth today.
888 boasts about its impressive poker growth in quarterly financial reports, and continues to develop its platform—its native Mac client is in beta-testing, it recently expanded its mobile apps, and Friday pokerfuse exclusively revealed it was developing a fast-fold product.
Full tilt is currently running a successful miniFTOPS poker tournament series, which may be temporarily drawing players away from the cash game tables. The poker room is also currently offering a “Take 2” promotion, with double VIP points and two $5 cash bonuses. While the promotion has its attractions, it may not be enough along to help regain third place.
