After a string of eight straight declining weeks, online poker experienced a gain in traffic last week. According to PokerScout, the industry as a whole realized a 2.8% increase.
However, the most interesting trend over the last month was sparked by the release of real money games at PokerStars’ Zoom Poker tables. The fast-fold poker variant counts for nearly 25% of their cash game players and almost half of all hands dealt at their cash tables.
Another notable change in traffic this week saw PartyPoker relinquish its hold on second place—a slot that it has held almost the entire year—to the iPoker Network. As the only top ten room to experience a loss in traffic last week, PartyPoker now trails iPoker by 8%.
Overall, the market continues to suffer from the impact of Black Friday which has resulted in a loss of nearly one third of its global liquidity over the last year.
