The Wall Street Journal(WSJ) has published a 2,000 word front page profile of PokerStars after one of its journalists spent time at the company’s HQ on the Isle of Man.
“We have to begin to explain that we’re a completely normal company,” said Guy Templer, PokerStars' head of business development. “We’re not a backroom shop on a rock in the sea.”
The article discusses PokerStars’ controversial attempts to enter the New Jersey market and the land based casinos’ opposition. It explains the US legal position and the accusations leveled at PokerStars which the company refutes.
The WSJ journalist even talked to one of the players PokerStars had invited to the island as part of its regular management and player meetings. Highlight of the article is without doubt a cuddly picture of founder Isai Scheinberg and a dog.
